What is Article 9A?
Article 9A was added to the Constitution of Pakistan in 2024. It gives every person the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment, and is the constitutional basis every Green Notice is built on.
Who are these authorities?
Depending on what you describe, your notice may be addressed to Pak-EPA (pollution and emissions), CDA (illegal construction, tree-cutting, zoning), the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (Margalla Hills, wildlife), the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (waste, sanitation), or a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (nuisance, noise).
Do I need a lawyer?
Not to draft the notice — but we recommend having a lawyer review it before it's filed, especially for anything you plan to escalate further. That's part of what the Committee helps with once you send it to us.
What happens after I send this to the Committee?
